let's get goin shall we? HAHAHA

how do i describe Bahay, Leyte... hmmmmmm... it's just too good for Earth! mi abuelo's house was built beside the river among old mangroves mi abuelita planted waaaay back. it has a raft in front, deteriorating because of its errr.. oldness where the palm boat? pump boat is parked over. oh boy... parked? HAHA!

the water is murky and almost brown... i do not want to get into its contents. i remember when we were kids and the bathroom was a wooden hut with a hole.. u can just imagine where everything goes... YES, into the water. the fat little talangkas are just waiting there. as i squat i can feel their puny black balls for eyes staring at my ass. ANYHOOO.. haha!

on the other side are the ponds. 5 hectares of dark, salty freshwater. [oxymoron, lemme explain.. the river opens to the sea.. so with the flow of water during high tides and low tides... dats da peekchur, you get? HAHA] 4 huge ponds with mud dikes built on the hedges to separate them. and what seems to be a miles-walk just to get to the road.

healthy creatures abound on them. harvest-worthy and new fingerlings of milkfish, sea-drawn prawns, other fish and the like. oh yeah, and crabs... friggin saddistic snappers.

so how do we get to BAhay, Leyte?

you take an hour's flight in NAIA 2 to tacloban.. [that is if you fly with PAL.. sayang ang miles! wahaha!], rent a van goin to Pantalan in Calubian, Leyte [that's the dock] then ride a palm, pump? boat [whatever] for about 20 mins max across the river into a deeper side turning right to an Amazon-looking front. and the view? it's the most spectacular and picturesque sight ever. we caught it on video, it's almost like a painting but not quite. are you familiar with those 3D picture shots you put in this red thingie.. ton's bro has one.. haha! well, it's exactly like that.

then you reach the raft and climb the stairs made of gmelina wood to mi abuelo's own little dock and when you advance further, there you have the house.
